In HospitalyThings I researched the possibilities of leaving the communicative aspect of hospitality to objects of one’s home.
For this I analysed stereotype host attitudes and transferred them into a series of objects. All chosen objects relate to the home entrance and are meant to communicate the host’s attitude before the guest even enters. They are developed in two versions each: one that looks comfortable and inviting, and one that does the exact opposite. With these objects people can underline their love for guests and arrange their entrance in an inviting way, or they can make the guests feel uncomfortable, making them never come back for another visit.
